Aside from the service issues, the property, which is a couple of lovely old buildings, has so many flaws! Rather than a fitness center, there’s an empty room that’s dedicated to yoga (I get that the owner is into yoga but it’s a pretty impractical use of the space for 90% of the guests). There’s no pool but there is a very large, shallow water feature (large enough to be a pool but, nope, can’t provide that useful amenity, either…). There’s a large grassy area but no lawn chairs (when we visited, somebody had dragged a couple of dining chairs up from the restaurant in order to have a place to sit!). There’s a charming outdoor grill but… you guessed it – not in use in the middle of August! But perhaps all of this is pointless because the fatal flaw is that this quaint country inn sits about 10 feet off one of the busiest highways in the area and the constant noise of traffic permeates and ruins the outdoor spaces.
