There’s also a little tea area in the front of the studio where you can sit down and have tea with your instructor before/after the class. There’s a very strong community feeling in the studio – and although i live about 30-45 minutes away, they still make me feel part of the community… (but this could also be because I find myself at a class at least 4 times a week)…
I regularly do Bikrams, but stopped while pregnant. I bought a 30 day for $40 as soon as the babe was born to try a few different types of yoga before jumping back into Bikrams. I loved the variety offered. Studio was beautiful, although the lobby is really cramped, maybe it’s the layout? Other than that, gorgeous decor, washrooms, fixtures. Instructors were wonderful, staff friendly and helpful. I didn’t stay on because I wanted more of a physical challenge and it was a bit further away than what I wanted to travel. Yoga is pricey, its regular prices are on par with what other studios charge. Great experience overall.

I like this DVD for when I want a light, relaxed and different yoga workout. After I finish doing this workout, I feel pleasantly warm and grounded. Rodney keeps you moving almost the whole time. You’re never moving quickly, but you’re always moving. Since you never really have a chance to work, there’s a steadily buildup of warmth and energy across your body in all the muscle groups the series works.
Sun salutations are wonderful to start off your day with. They consist of twelve different yoga positions, helping to detox the body while aiding in deep breathing at the same time. Going through the 12 positions, start off by standing with both feet together. Take a deep breath and feel your chest getting fuller, while relaxing the shoulders. Upon inhaling, lift both your arms away from your sides, and on an exhale, bring both arms to the front of your chest. Put your arms into prayer position.
There are some excellent programs included as well. Special kudos for Live to Fail, Black Fire, Inferno, Inferno HR, TBT, Yoga, Yoga Made Simple, and Pilates (Phase one and Phase two). These are stand alone programs that have higher production values than the original DailyBurn workouts, which were somewhat uneven, but these are really quite excellent. The older DailyBurn workouts have been reassembled into some anthology-type workouts with different instructors and placed in categories (Intelliburn, Core, Total Cardio). These are more inconsistent.

3. Prone Slider Toe-Ins: Go into a prone or plank position, your body should be horizontal or parallel to the floor. The legs should be straight and toes should be in. You have to use a slider to move back and forth. This is best done at a gym where all gym equipment is available.

This training was one of the most meaningful decisions of my life. It improved my confidence, helped me dredge out lingering emotions, and grew my patience. I’m leaving Bali a little kinder to myself and others, physically stronger, and more in tune with my intuition. I cannot recommend it enough. If you have even the slightest inclination to do yoga teacher training — do it!

If you’re a beginner, there isn’t really enough instruction to be able to do the video without looking. I definitely prefer Rodney Yee by a mile and will be returning to Gaiam yoga workouts. I feel like they provide a much better flow and a feeling of accomplishing a great workout without feeling rushed through moves. Due to the quickness and poor communication of movements I felt like there were a lot of places where beginners may have been prone to incorrectly complete movements, leading to a wasted workout and possibly injury.
Start out in Vajrasana. Breathe normally and raise your body so that you’re resting on your knees and palms. The knees should be directly under the hips, and the palms under the shoulders. Keep your head up straight, and place the knees slightly apart so that your weight is evenly distributed. Inhale deeply, then push your back down. Expand your abs as much as you can by taking in a big breath.
Yes I’ve done the Tranquility Flow, and I have to say that was the most relaxing thing I have ever done……That could be a whole series in itself. I’m a nurse and I run and Alzheimer’s Unit. My stress level is extremely high. Love what I do but not good when you can’t release that stress…So I thank you for what you do…
